Veterans Fellowship Program
A Circle of Brotherhood, Healing, and Horses
At GAIT Equine Assisted Services, our Veterans with Horses Fellowship Program continues to grow stronger each year, a free, veteran-exclusive initiative that fosters healing, connection, and purpose through the powerful bond between humans and horses.
What began as a small gathering of veterans seeking connection has evolved into a thriving community. In 2025, 10 to12 veterans participated weekly, finding trust, focus, and camaraderie alongside their chosen horses. Together, they’ve built a fellowship that extends far beyond the barn, one that embodies understanding, respect, and genuine brotherhood.
Each session blends hands-on groundwork with meaningful conversation and reflection. Horses help veterans reconnect with emotional awareness, patience, and calm, while weekly lunches around the table strengthen the sense of belonging that so many miss after service.
The impact is real, veterans report less anxiety, better sleep, more confidence, and renewed purpose. For many, this has become the one place where they can truly exhale, surrounded by those who “get it.” No uniforms. No ranks. Just connection.
This program remains completely free to all veterans, supported by community donations.
As we look toward 2026, we’re committed to making this fellowship even stronger, expanding outreach, deepening partnerships, and welcoming more veterans into this circle of healing.
